The effect of a therapeutic play-based training program on the pre- and postoperative anxiety and fear levels of children aged 8 to 11 years undergoing circumcision was the focus of this study.
The quasi-experimental study, featuring a pre-intervention, post-intervention, and control group, brought in 60 children aged 8 to 11, composed of 30 children in the intervention group and 30 in the control group. Data collection instruments included the Child and Parent Information Form, the Childhood Anxiety Sensitivity Index (CASI), and the Fear for Medical Procedures Scale (FMPS). To prepare for their circumcision surgery, children in the intervention group followed a two-hour therapeutic play-based training program.
